Flash photography and the joy of dealing with high ISO

Hey what’s up everyone?

Gorgeous weather here. 30 degrees and sunshine. Just back from a trip ti Hamburg and the Miniatur Wonderland which is Europe’s biggest model railway exhibition. So much to see and to shoot as well.

Now some people walk around and lighten up the scenery with their flashes ruining completely the mood of the fabulous lighting work the guys put in to simulate the day night time change every 5 minutes in the estate. Whereas other DSLR shooters lit up the scenery with their sometimes monstrous flashes I decided to stick with what I had. Unfortunately the only lens that was good enough was my 35mm lens. The 18-55mm pushed me in ISPO ranges that were too high and made the picture look like rubbish. So I developed settings for ‘day’ and ‘night’ shooting which worked out pretty well.

I also shot video of Knuffingen Airport. The latest attraction and boy is that great, watch this space for some footage.
